Let talk about motion graphics shall we.
I was spiraling through the infinite videos of YouTube the other day and decided to look
up one of my favorite motion pieces. Its a piece that everyone has seen, well mostly everyone.

Can you guess? Here's a clue.
 Its in a movie.
Its in the first of very popular "2 part" movie finale.
Anything?

Gross! How dare you guess Twilight! It's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1". The Tale of the Three Brothers to be precise. You don't have to be a Graphic Design nerd to appreciate the beauty and elegance of this motion graphic, but it helps.

Directed and designed by Ben Hibon with association with Framestore

 Is it not just fantastic?

Well, naturally YouTube had me in a firm neck hold, which led me to think of the opening credits of "Catch Me if You Can" What is so great about it is the seemingly simplicity of it, with that intently recognizable Saul Bass aesthetic.

Designed by Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas

The silhouettes are expertly designed and are easily recognizable. When paired with the simple color scheme makes a visual wonderland, with flawless scene transitions. Don't get me started on how well the music marries all three together.

Feeling the need for more illustrated glory I quickly looked up the opening credits for the
"Series of Unfortunate Events". Do a really need to say anything else?

Brent Watts of Axiom Design

Which led me to these two hidden gems. The first being "The Screwtape Letters" and the second being "The House that never was."

These last two where made by independent designers either for fun or for school.
Great work you two.

I just returned home from the Happiest Place on Earth! You guessed it Disneyland! I have loved Disney for years; from the theme park to the movies and music. There is just something so "magical" about what Disney does. Disney's is great at putting a smile on your face and making you feel the magic in the world.

Enough cheesy stuff, lets get down to why I'm writing. While in the Magic Kingdom I began to notice all the great typography all around. From Main Street Disney, to the jungles of Adventure Land, to California Adventure. Here are my findings.

These little gems are around the construction fences around California Adventure side.

These five posters are definitely my favorite find. Also, around the fences in California Adventure.

You guessed it, around the fence as well.

Love this one! It makes me think of old jungle expeditions. Deep down (well maybe not
so deep) I have always wanted to be an explorer and wear those awesome hats and vests.

So I will leave you with these for now. Enjoy!

I've been sketching a great deal of late, so I thought I would share.

I call this one Pins & Needles

Let me clarify before you ask the obvious question. No. I don't sew. I'm lucky if I can patch a
simple hole in a jacket or whatnot's. So if I were you, I wouldn't expect any startling housewife paraphernalia here.

I don't know if a Designer lives here, but someone awesome does!
My 2011 pumpkins! I love Halloween!

There is nothing quite like trying to take night photos with a poor quality camera :)

Hello again!
Its been a while I know, and I do apologize. Life just seems to get away for me at times.

So what is new?
Not to much on my end, but I'm working on changing that. I am actually working on a random project I just decided I wanted to do. No, I'm not going to tell what it is until its done. So I guess you're just going to have to keep coming back and see. Annoying I know, but deep down you're curious. So if you feel the need go ahead and guess what it could be. Guess, I dare you!

I so excited to carve my pumpkin this year! I have been waiting for what feels like forever! Its going to be great. I'm basing it off of one of my sketches; and I hope it turns out as awesome at is looks in my head. Fingers crossed!

Also, for those of you who haven't carved your pumpkins as well. I have made a template that is in the "Free for You" page. I don't know about you, but I love to watch certain movies around Halloween. And one of my favorites it Corpse Bride. I know, I know, it isn't really a Halloween movie, but it's one of my favorites! Along with Hocus Pocus! I don't care what anyone says, that is one of the best movies ever!

Well, back to what I was saying. I love Corpse Bride. So in honor of the movie I decided to make a templet of the dog Scrapes for you to use on your pumpkins. Happy carving!

Hello World!
This is my first official post of
"Don't Forget to Fly!"

You may be wondering what that means. In correlation with numerous other blog titles; ambiguity seems to be highly sought after, and mine is no exception. You as a reader can interpret and decided its mean in anyway you see fit! However, for me it represents reaching for your goals and never let anyone or anything stand in your way. Pretty great message, right?

"Don't Forget to Fly" is a blog I personally designed, where I can share my thoughts and designs. That's right folks, other potentially awesome design blog. Emphasizes on the potential. As you may notice it is barely up and running and is a work in progress. So please keep checking back! I promise things will start happening!

Hoping to see and hear from all of you, and remember
"Don't Forget to Fly!" Best!
